there are tons. you will have a bad metabolism, your bones will be brittle (osteoperosis), you will lose your hair, your nails will break easily, your body will not be able to sustain regular temperature, you will be hairy, your eyesight and hearing might be damaged, etc. basically, from the lack of nutrients, anything could go wrong.

Cancer is definitely not an effect of being anorexic. Brain damage, digestive system shutting down, eyesight shuts down, your menstration stops which can make you become baron, hair loss, your kidneys will become weak and eventually stop working. Without food, you can't feed your blood, which isn't feeding your brain, and brain damage occurs and your thinking becomes impaired. The less food you have in your body for a long period of time (especially 20 years) makes your heart work more and faster and it will eventually give out and you'll have a heart attack. These are just SOME of the problems that WILL happen, not can happen.

No, cancer isn't a side effect of being anorexic. And yes, your digestive system shuts down and most people with ED have heart attacks.

oddly your chances of cancer from foriegn substances would be less. However, lack of proper nutrients and minerals, causes cellular structures to break down making them more prone to abberancy. In addition to this abbearance, Localized DNA mutation is also more common.

However, the long term effects of Anorexia are death. So cancer should be the least of your problems. I would be more cocerned with heart issues and digestive problems over cancer.

But anorexia means bad health, bad health means hightened chance of illness, due to lacking the materials needed to keep the body working effectively, on a nutritional basis.

Of course cancer causing agents would be reduced. But the ability to fight off freeradicals (bad things in the blood stream) would also be reduced causing a breakdown of the bodys mechanisms to produce antibodies that contain and flush out abberant cellular structures in the body. Essentially your immunities would be reduced making cancer more likely - but the offset of cancer causing agents not entering the body, such as foods containing carcenogens etc.. would be removed.

Anorexia can be very bad from a western medical and nutritional basis.

It is a form of prolonged suicide.

Fasting is one thing.. anorexia is another.

Heart problems are often long term effects of Anorexia.

Depending on how long it's occured..in this case +20years, heart attacks would be common due to the amount it has to pump to sustain normal body functions.

If you're older i suggest you get a doctors advice immediatly

since you dont use your digestive organs they stop working as well long enough and they will never again work like they used to, the same principle as a person in a comma your organs have smooth muscle, you dont use your muscles and they stop working correctly. eventually they will die. every cell in your body will suffer from lack of nourishment. you will burn up your muscles, break down your bones, after that you will burn up thee remaining fat deposits for fuel for your body. it leads to death after a while.

Other than horrible breath, bad teeth, and becoming extremely ugly the worst thing is dying a horribly prolonged and painful death.
