You should have your first exam when you're 18-20 years old or when you become sexually active...whichever comes first.
If you are a student, make an appointment at the campus clinic.
They are generally affordable and good at providing a comfortable climate for students.
If you are not a student, you can call your local hospital for a referral. If you are on your parents' insurance they will find out when they receive the EOB, so you will have to pay cash or go to a local clinic. Inquire about cost before you make an appointment.
Good luck!

It is recommended that girls start going to the gynecologist at around the age of 13 to 14 years old, though pelvic exams usually don't happen until the age of about 16. You definitely should be seeing a gynecologist if you are 20 years old. Why don't you want your parents to know about this? I'm pretty sure that they know that you are female, hence you need a gynecologist. Your mother really should have taken care of this years ago.

You are almost 20 and you are still hiding from your parents like a 12 year old? Grow up and take care of your body.

You should start by now, especially if problems run in your family. I personally started going when I was 18 for that reason.
If you need to know who to go to, talk to your mom. Tell her you realized you're at an age where you should be going and get advise.

WTF is wrong with your mama??
All girls need an exam at 16-18-------hopefully before they are sexually active.
Make an appointment, go to it. You are way old enough to keep your parents OUT of it.
