If you are the offender and you haven't heard from him in four weeks, I think it's over as far as he is concerned. Send him a card and say you are sorry and miss him and his answer or lack of one will tell you what you want to know. Chasing a guy is a turnoff, too so use your head.

Send a letter of sincere apology WITHOUT asking him to do anything, like take you back. If you're immediately trying to get something from him, it won't be as sincere.
Wait a decent interval, and then contact him again.

Could probably answer this question better if we knew why the 2 of you separated.....if you cheated on him, there may be nothing you can do but move on....if it was because of something else, just apologize.....whatever you do, don't look or sound desparate.
