Get him wrapping paper! :) Just kidding...but kids do love to crinkle the paper at that age! You could get him one of those shape sorting buckets. The top has what looks to be cut outs of certain shapes, and then the child tries to figure out what piece goes into which hole. Or, as someone else suggested, an activity table. My son is 3 now and has long outgrown his, but he loved it at age one! Also, he loved touching his pee-pee at diaper changes! I think it's a male thing-they are born with a magnet in their hand that draws it downward! :) Try giving him a toy to distract him, or a book. It's natural and harmless if you cannot distract him. You'll just have to learn to be a quick change artist!

They are always going to touch themselves it's just part of their curiosity to them it feels good and that's it. Nothing sexual about it. So don't worry. A good gift

for the 2nd one just give him something to hold ...but really he has found something to hold and will do this for the rest of his life lol, don't worry very normal.
best gift. A ride on toy. Not a tricycle, save that for 2nd b'day. Mine got a ride on train each for first b'day and loved them. They wern't walking yet but figured out very quickly how to get on and to push (to begin with each other around) themselves around the house. They had heaps of fun

Preferably money.
But I suggest you get him a headstart and by a savings bond for him.
By the time he is old enough to cash it in, itll be worth a lot.
And besides, the parents control the money so it could just be wasted on the parents.
A savings bond in his name would allow him to reap benefits.

Get him a tonka dump truck. He will play with it for years.

As far him touching himself, that is normal. He has a wee wee. He likes to play with it. Ignore it unless he is doing it in public. he will grow out of it.

get him a playskool step start walk'n ride from walmart. our daughter loved that thing when she got that. and he's probably just exploring down there wondering what it is....or your normal typical male. j/k but n e ways did you know that baby boys get erections. it's completely normal though. i just think that sounds weird.
