What about it? So dolphins hunt in groups, does that mean we evolved from dolphins? Penguins have only one mate, does that mean monogamy was instituted by penguins? Common traits does not prove a common ancestor anymore than it proves a common Creator.

It seems to be a rather short leap from using twigs to coax termites out of hills and using a sharpened stick to spear a bush-baby. It is curious, though, that only the females use this technique. Given the capacity for chimps to learn, I wonder if the males will soon adopt the weapon for inter-troop conflicts.

Evolution in action! It won't lead anywhere though thanks to us humans being in the same niche.

Edit:

In the vain hope that some here might learn something.....
This is not actually evolution itself but more of a precurser. If the spear use is a product of the more intelligent chimps and they actually get more protein in their diet and therefore
outcompete other chimps then it might just might lead to selection for bigger/better brains. It has happened at least once but probably failed countless more times.

What do you make of the fact that dolphins hunt with sponges? According to your implied assumption, people evolved from dolphins (since we still use sponges, but not spears).

Why do people always use evolution as an argument? It is a theory. Besides why not start at the beginning, evolution didn't happen until millions of years after God created the earth.
