My husband is stationed in Osan, Korea. He gets to come home for one month in September, every site I've looked at gives me prices between 970 and 1200... ROUND TRIP!!! I have to buy his ticket in the next month or two, where is the cheapest website OR what other airports are cheaper to fly into? We live near LA, CA but I researched Las Vegas and San Diego and San Fran... those all have the same prices, I'll drive up to 6-8 hrs to save a few hundred bucks... my car is good on gas.... PLEASE HELP!!!

Military air flights are not possible so please don't give that as an answer, there used to be a flight called the "patriot" that flew in and outta korea but the military killed it due to budget cuts....

I'm sorry the prices are higher than you would like, but unfortunately the reason you are seeing these prices from all the cities is, that is just what they run.

As far as a $790.00 + tax ticket from Tokyo to LAX isn't going to work considering international tickets can easily have $200 - $350.00 in taxes! (This varies depending on the country/city). Plus he would still need to get to the other city.

International tickets from certain cities can be very expensive. In fact a $970 ticket is a GOOD price for what you are looking for. It isn't going to matter if you are willing to drive 6 - 8 hours, I don't think you will find a "less expensive" city to fly into. LAX is a major international airport.

Unless you want to potentially pay more than $1,200 for this ticket, I wouldn't wait because airfare is based off availability. Have you only tried websites? If so, that's your 1st problem there. Online "isn't" contrary to popular belief "cheaper".

Try your local travel agent. We work with Air Consolidators that only work with agents. It is based off availability so it is crucial to book in advance. As long as the availability is good as the prices are pre-contracted fares with airlines that need to be in a certain class of service they might be able to get a little better price. If nothing else IF it's the same, go through an agent because if anything needs to be possibly changed you have a go-to person, not an 800 # waiting for the next available rep.

There is no miracle website though that is going to give you a dramatically lower rate.

Congrats though on your Husband being able to come home to see you and his family. I couldn't imagine how one deals with that distance, it must be so terribly difficult.

Have a Lovely visit with one another and best of luck to you.
