maybe it was the way you originally stated the question. that lead them to believe that some felt they had to state what they did.
i had read your question and what turned me off to answering was the way it was worded . (just a tad condescending)
and they along with others of different faiths are harassed by 'the self-righteous Christians' ( you know, the ones who say that we are all going to burn in hell because we don't believe in their religion), so i really can't blame them for being on the defensive.

I saw some good answers on there... there were a few antagonists but there always is.. no matter who you are. The very first question I asked on this category I was bombarded with insults and generalizations from christians and since I have experienced the same kind of thing from all groups. This category is so filled with people who insult one another that people tend to get hyper defensive, I just ignore the idiotic answers and read the good ones thats what you should do too. I especially think there was several good answers to your question and if I were you I would just ignore the bad answers and give the points and credit to someone who actually took the time to answer your question politely and thoroughly.(like prairie crow who had an excellent answer to both that question and this one)

Why do ignorant Christians love bashing Wiccans? It all goes hand in hand...They're like little kids, always having to get back at each other. One bashes the other, the other feels as though they're being discriminated against, so they slander the other religion...Neither really has the right, because they're lumping all of the followers into one category.

Though, to be fair, take a look at all the Christians who were calling Wiccans devil-worshippers and whatnot. I'm not saying either is right, but some Christians tend to have a bad rep when it comes to their treatment of Pagans.

Honestly, people like those sometimes make me ashamed to call myself a Wiccan.

They have bought into the whole "Christians are out to get us" myth proposed by some neo-pagan authors based on unfounded guesses about history. I'm probably going to get a lot of thumbs down for this but I can't stand the Wiccans who still buy into the whole "burning times" myth and throw around the term "persecution" like it's going out of style.

I feel like some Wiccans are trying to compete for the "most oppressed group" award and when someone like you tries to get them to think critically about their religion, (something everybody should do about ANY belief) they take it as a personal attack and continue to blindly follow whatever garbage they've been told to.

Well, that's my little rant. Just want to let you know that despite being outnumbered, there are still plenty of logical, non-fluffy Wiccans out there. Have a great day.

Not all wiccans bash christians- I have many varied belief systems within my friends from Buddist to Christian and wiccian as well IGNORANT anything(labels are not important) is when bashing anothers beliefs is how you can make you feel better about your own- Which is all negative so not very Christian or religious aof any kind and puts a bad example to the world-

Positive open and willing to listen to all is the only way to be-
OUR beliefs are our core but talking and sharing about them in a positive way is the only way someone will HEAR what is being said!

Try looking into this site which transends and supports alll belief systems!

If you'll take a look at my answer to the question you just linked, you'll see that I made no assumptions about your religion and that I answered your questions politely, in good faith. So who's generalizing now?

Wiccans are far from being a "defenseless minority" -- we've been holding our own quite well for a few decades now. There are Wiccans who seem to be in it for the persecution complex (*cough*Silver Ravenwolf*cough*); unfortunately they seem to be the most vocal ones. Rest assured that there are plenty of Wiccans out there who practice their religion with sincere devotion and without making too much noise about it.

It sounds to me like you asked that initial question with an agenda -- hardly honorable behavior. I believe it's called "bushwhacking". Please feel free to prove me wrong.

EDITED TO ADD: I accept your clarification, but you could have phrased your initial question a LOT better. I'm still not sure what your motives are. If you seriously have further questions, again, you're welcome to email me.

It have been given me to the place i'm now. Plus, nonetheless i need to be condemned with the aid of countless pagans for saying this, Catholicism definitely arranged me for the countless concepts of Wicca. lots of the concepts do no longer mesh, yet i hit upon that the concepts that don't mesh are ones that I puzzled, and replied with Wicca. yet some, overly simplified concepts, mutually with a holy mom, and the trinity, etc definitely made the transition interesting and not in any respect perplexing. Plus fresco-variety Catholic artwork is rather cool. I definitely have some adorning my residing house. i won't be able to help it, i'm an artist, I loove artwork.

There's a simpler explanation:

they are some kind of defenseless minority constantly being harassed by the Christian community.

Because Christians condemn anyone that is not of there religion, which is bullshit. Christians "harass" just as much as anyone else does about religious values and beliefs, its a bad human trait.
And actually, when it comes to any Pagan religion and Christianity, a Christian is the first to "harass" someone of a Pagan faith. Therefore, a Christian sets it off....not a Pagan.

Remember, He's YOUR Satan, not a Pagans.

I think Sheridan said it best though!

"Do you seriously believe in Wicca? "
here you belittle them

"do you really believe your spells work"
obviously or they would not waste their time (another slanderous attack)

"and please no overreacting"
categorizing them as over dramatic drama queens (that would offend me)

"why act like your part of an ancient cult"
all the ingredients of a hate speech

"BUT MOST OF MY CLOSE FRIENDS ARE!"
most likely a lie because if you did you would have at least a speck of knowledge about the subject.

"and why does everyone bas Christianity."
you can dish it out but you cant take the heat

EDIT: and the title you gave this 'question'
" Why do ignorant wiccans just love bashing christianity.? "
another slanderous attack after generalizing the group

welp i hope that clears things up for you
