My son is a 10 week 4 day premature baby..he has acid reflux or so his pedaric doctor says so he pukes up any thing he eats more so on breast milk than on formula..until acouple of days ago then the formula started cumming up with progectial vomiting the entire 6 oz bottle. Took him to dr today and dr said that it was his reflux stated that he thought he would out grow the desiese but instead he out grew the dose of medicine he then increased his meds.even before the new problem he still threw up at feedings.I have had to slow down how offten I breast feed him due to the breast milk being to thin to stay down and increase the formula but the meds do not stop the reflux.is there any thing to stop the reflux when meds dont work. I have spoken to his dr and his home health nurse both say that the reflux will get better we just have to wait. I am a mother of 7 children 4 of them were born severly premature like him and the meds for reflux stoped it... my milk suppply is decreasing

Please don't give him cider vinegar, it is acidic and will aggravate the reflux. Try giving him small amounts of formula more often instead of 3-4 feedings per day, make them smaller feedings 6-8 times per day. when you are feeding make sure he isn't laying flat, but on an angle with his feet lower. Also make sure his diapers and clothing are not tight. After feeding don't lay him down right away, put him in his baby seat. it won't hurt him to stop breast feeding if the formula works better.
I have had acid reflux for years and I have never vomited like your son. Projectile vomiting is not normally a symptom of acid reflux. You should go back to your pediatricians and ask him to check for something other than acid reflux.

I grew up with really bad acid reflex, like severe heartburn everyday. It took a lot of doctors trips to make it go away. I am currently on double the recommended dose of previcid to keep it under control. If I only take it in the morning, and not at night, the symptoms will come back before I sleep. Its possible that your acid reflex is just that severe. A stronger dose of the medicine would help. Also, I hope you are seeing a specialist. A regular family doctor will, most often, not know the proper way to help you. If you are not seeing a specialist, I recommend that you ask your parents if they can take you to see a gastronologist. They will be able to help you much more. As someone who knows what you are going through, I hope it works out for you. Hang in there!!! :)

The medications for acid reflux not only stop the symptoms but prevent and repair damage to the lining of their throat. No natural remedy can do that. I suggest you pump as much as possible and keep him on meds.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. A TABLESPOON IS WHAT AN ADULT WOULD TAKE, SOOOOO.... IF YOU HAVE AN EYE DROPPER (CLEAR - NEVER USED) A COUPLE OF DROPS TO START, INCREASE IF NECESSARY UP TO I'D SAY - NO MORE THAN A HALF A TEASPOON BEFORE FEEDING.
THIS IS A NATURAL CURE, IT IS NOT A MEDICATION, AND IS NOT HARMFUL TO THE BABY. SINCE YOU ARE BREAST FEEDING, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ALSO DO THE TABLESPOON A COUPLE HOURS BEFORE THEN FEEDING - START WITH ONCE A DAY - CAN TAKE IT THREE IF NECESSARY - CURED MINE, WITH NO MEDICATION (WAS DIAGNOSED, DON'T LIKE TAKING RX MEDS IF I CAN HELP IT.)
