U do not have to go out for a diest. Just do a low carb diet at home. Dont eat to much rice and bread. If you are craving it eat only one piece of wheat bread, not white and do this for one week and see the results. The more you do it the more changes you see. That is why we have the saying the more the merrier!

Diets shouldn't cost anything.
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both. The cheapest diet is just to eat healthy and sensibly. If you watch your bad carbs and eat healthy and burn more calories than you take in you should be fine.

Unfortunately the only way to do it safely and effectively (for the long-term) is to eat fewer calories, watch your portion sizes (America is famous for HUGE portions even in the home), and exercise - at *least* walk 30 minutes 5 times a week.

learn portion control and push away from the table when finished... healthy eating is all that is required...it's not a diet but a lifestyle that you have to adopt...diets are a temporary fix

Well-balanced, calorie restricted diet.
Lots of water
Moderate exercise.
What you spend your money on... good running/walking shoes, maybe a journal to log your calories (you can do this online for free, though), pair of dumbbells? All this is offset by not spending money on chips, pop, and McDonald's drive-thru.
