While most corporations have to show the public their finances non-profits do not. So finding out exactly how much they make is tricky.
This site gives fairly good information on the compensation of Non-profit CEOs http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm/bay/studies.ceo.htm

All non-profit organizations are required by law to make public their finances, where the money comes from and where it goes. I usually ask for the records but do your homework as these can be doctored up.

nonprofits file a tax form 990. You can do a 990 search and pull up many of their returns. It shows how much they have, how much they give away and how much the top employees are paid.
