Could you possibly be depressed? I understand where you're coming from. I am sad often and cry and can't figure out why I am so down. Try going and doing something you really enjoy or watch a movie that will make you laugh. Good luck and be strong!

When you're sad for more than 2 weeks and can't figure out why or you cry for no apparent reason, then it means that you are chemically depressed. Some depressions are caused by circumstances, some by a chemical imbalance in the brain, some by a combination of the two. It sounds like you have a chemical imbalance in your brain...your brain does not produce enough seratonin. There are lots of medications to help with this. Not all of them will work on everyone. I had to try three different medications before finding one that was right for me. Nobody can diagnose you properly or give you the right medication except a psychiatrist. Psycologists are good for counseling, but only a psychiatrist (an MD) can prescribe medication. So even if you're feeling better one day, bad the next, don't try to ride it out. And don't listen to those who don't understand this condition and try to tell you that you have the wrong attitude, etc. Nobody wants to feel this way. It's not as simple as an attitude change or thinking positively. It's like telling someone with a broken leg, "Stop whining about your leg and just run a few miles. The pain is all in your head." How can you run with a broken leg? You can't. And obviously, the pain isn't just in your head. By the same token, how can you think positively when your mind is not allowing you to do so? Please find a psychiatrist and have him/her help you find a long-term solution. Believe me, I've suffered from depression almost my whole life and I know how you feel. And nobody should feel that way when there's help available. I wish you all the best and I'll keep you in my prayers. Good luck.

Aw.... go jump off a bridge, wah ,wah, wah. You big sissy, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get over it!! You'd think it would and should be that easy, but the problem is that you are suffering from depression, and if you could control that depression with your mind, well then you wouldn't be depressed ,would you? Occupying your mind , or any other advice that you will get from anyone who answers this question who finds relief from sadness and not depression won't help. I've heard enough and I will tell you right here and right now, there is only one solution to your problem- go see a doctor and get a prescription for anti-depressive medicine and don't look back. Your inability to overcome this situation on your own is not a sign of failure, it is a medical certainty. Every minute you waste in that endeavor is just another minute you lose in being able to enjoy a normal life, for the cost of the pills and the time it takes to swallow them. Nothing is going to make you happy if your mind won't let you be, just as you will find people who seemingly have nothing going their way, who are happy ,happy. I usually refrain from recommending outside agencies to deal with life, but clinical depression offers no other solutions.

I am going through the same thing. I have become where I am sad all the time and don't even have that great of a reason to be sad. I have been very depressed and I think you are too. I don't know how old you are but I am only 13 and already struggling with this. I told everyone it wasn't true for the past 4 months. Now all I need is help. I am only a kid though and won't easily be able to get help without my parents knowing. If I tell a teacher at school they will just tell my parents. I have honestly thought about committing suicide or cutting myself but every time I am about to my parents will get home or I will hear them coming. I say all this to say your not the only one struggling. This is what I have learned today on yahoo answers. Check out 2 of my questions if you want and read what people told me. It could be different for you because you are older but it will still help:

If it continues for more than 2 weeks, it is probably depression. View: www.depression.com/- and: http://www.relax7.com/7.php and the 6 blogposts of Shan Eris on "tackling depression" at www.myspace.com Type: "depression" in the bar on the myspace homepage, too. If it worsens, see a doctor.

Logic and emotion are different aspects of the mind. It looks like you are suffering from a depression, caused by chemical imbalance. Pl. see a health professional in any system of healing.
