For some, anything is possible.
Most look for something to believe in and live for, when money, fame and glory lose their attraction. Personally, I believe in something I can see and study. I can see God working in my life and others around me, in my Church. People get very sick, we pray for them and they heal miraculously fast- even to the astonishment of the doctors and specialists.
I have been called to act/ help specific people in specific ways in the past, and that small act blossomed out to help others in detrimental ways I could've never imagined.
To be able to study the Bible, see the historical proof therein, see and feel the effects of a closer relationship with God, is an amazing thing.
I never knew so many agnostic/ atheists were so angry/ jealous/ oppositional to people with religious beliefs.
To me, that is true sadness.
I think there's a much greater feeling of security when you know of someone who has died, resurrected and came back to us to tell us of what happens- and that at this time anyone in the USA can go out and buy a printed copy of His teachings and study it !

Just for Argument sake, If every religion and belief out there was wrong, and me being A christian was just A delusion. Then I must say I still came out ahead, because my life has never been better since Christ steered me away from my drugs, pornos, unmarried sex, curse words, and ignorance of what real love was until I read the bible. so just for argument sake, if I am crazy for following Jesus, then I'm glad I'm crazy.

ya know what? there are so many questions about beliefs and whose God is the right God but I must say that your question is one of the best I have seen on the matter. I too have wondered what if we are all wrong? I mean what if the cosmic joke is on us?
without going into my beliefs(I do believe in God) i have my own reasons so we dont have to get into that. what I want to say is simply we choose to believe, we choose not to believe but since there is no tangible evidence either way then all we have is faith
the faith in something beyond death or faith in nothingness after death. i really have a point but i am really struggling to get to the point. my mind is racing in many direction s as I ponder this great question, so I will say that you asked very reasonably intelligent question and ya did it (in my opinion0 without insulting or offending anyone . I hope you get the decent answers this question deserves. wish mine could've been better

What if you are wrong and there realy is a hell. Do you wish to take a chance on that. Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20: 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Do you mean like...
...finding out that "our souls" were actually not a part of us, but the greater part of us of which our bodies are simply a three-dimensional representation, a four+ dimensional being who exists in the past, present, and future, and like a man standing with his hand through a curtain, we are the hand of the "soul" reaching into the physical 3D world?
What a discovery that would be. Maybe someone has actually experienced it and still lives.

You should check out Philip Jose Farmer's series, first title To Your Scattered Bodies Go. The first few are pretty good. I would skip the last book or two in the series.

With all the disruption, turmoil and killing because the religions can't and don't want to agree on supposedly the same God, they can't be right. One faction believes that there is a man living in a cloud and the other one doesn't. There is no middle ground. Our God concept came from ancient biblical people who also believed that the Earth was flat. If beings from other worlds can visit our planet and we can't visit theirs, isn't that a higher power?

Hey you know what, we had the same thought about this matter. What if there is no God after all and our death is the end of our existence even spiritually? But there are many supernatural things that are happening like ghosts and obsession of demonic spirits. So It's proven that spirits and satan exists so why not life after death too?

I am a seeker of knowledge, I would be happy. I am an Atheist due to a lack of belief, not due to a belief.

Agnostic is absence of belief. I don't "believe" I have not made a decision. I cannot be wrong, what I say is I don't know so unless I know then I don't.
