Good Q. "Adam" is not really a proper name, it is Hebrew "Addamah" meaning "ruddy" (red) and from the ground. The ground of the freshly created earth, which God took and formed the first human from, was a rich red color.

Recent Biblical archeology studies suggest that the Garden of Eden was actually located near/right at Jerusalem. Under the old Temple mount area archeologists find substantial evidence of springs of water that are the beginning of the four riverheads in Genesis--the Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and the Euphrates.

Throughout several thousands years of the earth's history, the earth's lattitude/longitude has changed dramatically through catastrophic upheavels, such as the Noachian flood, the long day of Joshua, and most recently the Asian tsunami, which tilted the earth on its axis about one tenth of a degree (leading to our recent climate changes--read: it is not "global warming"). You will note that in the Old Testament that what is now Israel (Promised Land) was called "the land of milk and honey." Meaning lots of grass for cattle to graze, and lots of flowers for bees to polinate. However, today it is mostly desert. At one time, this area was indeed the "cradle of civilization" = Mesopotamia.

No worries though about being Black. I'm a Caucausian with hardly no melanin left and I live in Arizona--I can barely buy enough sun screen to keep me alive. LOL. God loves you!

Actually, they would have to have been raceless. Since they are the parents of all of mankind, they would have to have the entire human genome split between them which means that they would have had traits of all the races.

As people spread out to different parts of the world, the people with traits which made the area easier to live in would have been more likely to survive than those without those traits.

For example, in most of Africa where the sun is hot people with darker skintones were more likely to survive the heat would have had a higher survival rate. Lighter skinned peoples would have gravitated towards areas where it was cooler such as Europe.

This produced the illusion that people are of different races, but in reality different races among humans do not exist except in our heads. Things like skin color and eye shape are really no different than hair or eye color.

Sweetheart your beautiful but most of these stuck up christians are going to say that adam and eve were white because they don't believe in evolution, or the movement of tectonic plates. So they are all going to say no, I on the other hand understand those things and say that yes we probably all started out very dark black if you will and as we moved away from the equater our skin began to lighten from not being exposed to the sun for as long and in such high concentration.

adam and eve were not real people. most bible stories are metaphorical - not literal. someone in touch with the word of god wrote these stories so that ordinary people could understand non-worldly ideas and higher spiritual concepts.

adam and eve represent the first humans, but they were not THE actual first humans on the planet. the adam and eve story, like the other stories in the bible, are there to teach us about life. the moral of the adam and eve story is...everything in life can be great unless you a) listen to evil ideas when you know you should stick with what is good for you now, and b) you forget your limitations as a human being.

were adam and eve black? yes and no. for a black person interpreting that bible story and applying it to his own experiences, yes, adam and eve were black. BUT, for a white person intepreting the story (which is really sort of an ethical, spiritual myth or fable), adam and eve were white.

in my opinion, adam and eve are characters in a story - therefore, they cannot be classified as having a particular race.

It has been scientifically proven that white persons are descendants of the black/African race. The oldest skeleton to be found in the world is by archeologists and is an African black woman. White Europeans are to have strains of her mitochondrial DNA that can only be passed on by the maternal line.
Also, Jesus was said to have had hair like "lamb's wool". Ever known a white person (who is not interracial) to have that?
I am white and am proud that we can start linking races together as one. It proves just how much we all have in common.

If one believes the Bible, and Adam and Eve were really the very very first humans of the homo sapien variety, then yes they were black.

The seat of civilization began in Iraq. That's where writing, math and major building projects originated.

The races of the world were created . and then he created Adam and eve they were the last race to be created . they were the first Jews. It is the bloodline in which Christ would come through. And if memory serves me right The name " Adam " means "man".

GOD was not from Africa. However it is possible. We are never told and therefore, I would not want to even guess. It really should not matter since we are all Brothers and sisters when we become Christians anyway. Are you a follower of our LORD and SAVIOR? Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. We must HEAR GOD’s WORD. - Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
2. We are told to BELIEVE. - To the Prison guard in Acts 16:31 Paul and Silas said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
3. We must REPENT (turn from) of our sins. - Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
4. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST before men. - Matthew 10:32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
5. We are to enter the waters and BE BAPTIZED. - Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
6. We are told to CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL until death. - Revelation 2:10b Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

Adam and Eve are colourless, because they are only the figures of a parable in the Old Testament. Nobody knows who were the first human beings.
