My daughter had her four wisdom teeth pulled, and the oral surgeon gave her an instruction sheet. Naturally, she didn't pay much attention to it. She ended up with what they call a dry socket--it was like an open crater in her gum, and it was very painful. She had to go back multiple times and have it packed until it finally healed. Do exactly what your doctor said, and don't smoke either. A blood clot is supposed to form at the site of the extraction. Don't do anything that would dislodge it. There's a reason for these precautions, and they're usually to save you a world of hurt. So just keep eating ice cream for a few more days. I read some of the other answers and people told you they ate whatever they wanted, etc. They were just lucky. If you have questions, call the doctor, don't listen to some of these nuts.

It's all relative. But since it looks like you're healing up well, you should be able to eat solid food once it looks like the swelling and tenderness goes away. If you're sick of mushy foods and soups, experiment with things like rice that are a little tougher, but can easily be handled without back teeth if necessary. :)

Usually after a day or 2 depending on how well you heal. Just be careful you don't get a dry socket (get food stuck in the holes) it will hurt more than before. dont eat any chips or salsa or peanuts (anything small that can get into the holes.

What did your dentist say? Did he give you a monoject (syringe) to clean out the space after eating? I ate steak within a few hours of having mine removed - just to prove I could... I would chew small bites, in the front of your mouth, and make sure you rinse out the site really well afterward.

Good luck!

Try mashed potatos with cheese, peas
Macaroni and cheese.
I ate the first day. Just clean well after.
If you want the cheeseburger, cut it really, really small and take your time chewing

Did you have one side removed or both side. If one side then you can eat with the other side right away.

I had all mine out, and they said I could have soup and a sandwitch as soon as the numbness wore off.
