Oh yest my tooth has a crown, that cost $700.00. This was done by another dentist out of town. I told my regular dentist that I've had for 30 yrs, that to just pull it.

IF THERE IS MOBILITY AND PAIN WITH THIS TOOTH IS MOST LIKELY THAT THERE IS A ROOT FRACTURE. EXTRACTION IS THE BEST REMEDY FOR THE PAIN.
BUT WHY DOES IT HURT IF THE NERVE IS GONE?

THE BONE WHICH SURROUNDS THE TOOTH ALSO HAS FINE NERVE ENDINGS THROUGHOUT. WHEN YOU PRESS OR TAP ON THE TOOTH, YOU ARE PRESSING AGAINST THIS BONE-- AND FEELING THE PAIN.

It could be that the dentist that did your root canal did miss some of the nerve or it could be re-abscessing, in which case you need a re-treat. Also, since you did have a crown put on, which kind of hints there wasn't a lot of tooth structure left, you could have fractured your root and that would cause it to be "loose." In that case, there is no option but to pull the tooth and get possibly an implant, bridge, or partial. You should definately see your dentist right away to get this taken care of! :)

Did you consider going to a root canal professional? mostly, they are able to end the therapy in a unmarried appointment, very much reducing the soreness. also, Advil works maximum suitable (in case you could take it). in many situations 600mg each 6 hrs for about 3-4 days after the therapy works maximum suitable. Molars are the most difficult teeth to do root canals on because they are more durable to get get admission to to, and they have distinct roots. If that is been more desirable than per week, and the soreness continues to be insufferable, i might want to point calling your dentist, and bypass see him right now. each now and then the soreness can bypass away by merely having the teeth shaved down about 1mm so that you do not chew on it, further traumatizing it.

the root canal may need to be re-done... did you have a crown put on the tooth? If not the integrity of the tooth can be jeopardize and become loose and break. you need to make an appointment with your dentist and tell him what's happening and have him take a x-ray of the area...

if it hurt when you touch it then, it could mean that the dentist that did the root canal did not extract all of the nerve and that's why you still feel it, cause if the whole nerve is gone you will not feel a thing i would get it checked out
