Haven't you learned that if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all when you were in kindergarten? If you knew anything about cats at all, then you would know that they are very hygienic creatures and they don't smell at all. And why are you asking such a question in the cats section where you know most people that visit here own cats and ARE cat lovers? You are a sad person that needs to find something productive to do. Perhaps you should get a cat to keep you from being bored and try to agitate other people on the internet.

I'm a cat lover and proud of it! They're actually very clean animals and won't stink up your house. If you don't like cats then don't get any as pets, problem solved. No one is forcing you to read through the cat section of YA either.

I addition to everything that has been said already, if you ever lived in a house with a cat...or 2...or more, you would realize that it is not the cat that is smelly and dirty..it is the cat owner who can be. I've been in smelly cat owner's houses before and it's usually the owner that is filthy. maybe you should clean your house!

If you are ignorant, not that I'm saying you are ..wink, wink ...and do not clean the litter box then yes, the house will smell. If you are respectful to the cat(s) and scoop every day then they will be respectful of you and always use the box.

I have 2 cats and my house, as well as my cats, smell great.

you should have posted this q in dogs or something. all of us cat lovers have something in common and there's enough of us to have a constant running q and a . my cats are clean and I work 12 hours a day. they take care of themselves for the most part. I was considering a dog but alas I work hard for all my cats needs and toys. why do I have them? because they are mine and no one elses and I love having the brats around to talk to and to get comfort from when no one is around. They are more affectionate than any other animal I've had so far. What do you have for a pet, or can't you afford to love anyone else but yourself?

Who stinks up the house? The cat or the "cat lover"? How many do you have?

Cats do not stink up a house. They are very clean, much cleaner than dogs. You just have to provide them with food and fresh water and clean their litter regularly, and they do not smell. A smell would indicate poor care from a bad owner.

I have five of them, and as long as I scoop the litter box a couple of times a day, they don't stink. that's a lot easier than roaming around the back yard cleaning up dog poop. they are indoor cats and they are very clean. I like dogs, but cats have always been cleaner and smell better.
good grief! is there no forum in this who Yahoo answers that doesn't have a "hater" trolling around?

Actually, humans are much dirtier then cats. Dirty litter boxes can stink up a house, not the cats.

I'm certainly not tired of BEING a cat lover. I have 4 presently and mine are very easy to take care of. A house don't HAVE to smell MORON, and I would bet a million bucks that YOU are probably a long haired sleazy slob who DOES smell.

NO WAY!!!!! Cats are intellegent, loving, loyal, friendly creatures that keep you and your home safe and protected from rodents and bugs, and theyre way cleaner than dogs. They clean themselves, and sh*t in a litter box so you dont have to get up 5 times per night to let them outside! They don't make much noise either, and are just the right size for cuddling in laps.
