I found you the FAA it give a lot of good information here; http://www.faa.gov/pilots/
The best way is head to a private airfield where a few Pilots hang out. Some actually have clubs and someone always around in the day. Usually a Retired person with nothing better to do. Get talking with these people, many love to fly and have their own plane. They can help you. First you learn like we do to drive. You take a written test to show you have an understanding of the rules. You fly with someone who can instruct you (This costs money, Fuel not Cheap or upkeep). As you gain enough Flight Hours you can then test for a Solo License. Then you can Fly alone or with a Licensed Pilot. After you gain enough required Hours Flying you can then get your regular Pilots License and take anyone with you. I never got my license, but, people who had them taught me to fly a single engine and I not bad, just I not licensed. Planes are expensive, Fuel and Upkeep. You have to have a Certified Mechanic do certain work at various hours on the Aircraft.

I have been given so some distance as my inner maximum pilots license, after that I used my understanding from something of my floor colleges to get my Dispatch license and get a activity on the Operations component. i do no longer fly lots anymore however the circumstances I did have been tremendous. I flew a pal to a advantageous eating place for his promenade dinner, flew to flow to my father and mom on their island domicile, flew my dad over his fishing shack all in northern Michigan the place I discovered to fly. there's a cost, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's something you're able to have continuously and additionally you will incredibly get exhilaration from.

They say if you want IT, you can get IT on ebay! LOL. Just kiddin'. A friend of mine is working on getting his license through a private instructor. That is probably the fastest way, especially if your instructor is not very busy. If your young, you can join the military and learn to fly the most advanced aircraft in the world. Spend six years training on that stuff and you'll have it made the rest of your life.

Since 9/11 I don't think that there is a fast or easy way to get a pilots license.

i got mine in a little over a month. i flew twice a day mon-fri in AZ. your best best is to do something similar. pick an instructor at a flight school you like and just punch it out. you need to give some down time though (weekends for me) other wise you might feel overwhelmed, a lot of it is based on how well you pick the skills up. hope this helps.

9-11 has nothing to do with easy or fast obtaining a pilots certificate.
Since you wisely did not say cheapest, I recommend you contact American Flyers, they offer accelerated courses. see:
