Just wondering how I can get those icons to show up the same way as if you were to switch to the classic start menu because in the regular start menu they don't show, but when you switch classic they appear. I know I can make shortcuts, that's not what I want to do. I want the icons to show up in the regular start menu setting....

Right-click on an open area of the Desktop.
Click on Personalize.
On the left side is Change Desktop Icons, select it.
Turn on (or off) the icons you want!

try right clicking on the start bar and going to properties, then click on the start menu tab and then go to customize.
