A lot of us are scared to death. First Israel, then New York. Madrid next, only to be followed up by Londonistan.

Are you really that stupid? First of there is no such thing as a moderate muslim. I am a muslim it is not proceded with any other word, not shitte not sunni not moderate and not extremist, just muslim. Muslims do speak up, what exactly is it you are not hearing. Do you think they are going to show muslim protestes on the news in US please........Thats not going to suit Bush's agenda is it. First Israel? What are you talking about it was the Israelis who kicked the palistinans from there homes, murdered innocnet men women and CHILDREN. When you get kicked out of your home tell me if your going to sit back and do nothing,literally watch another family living in your home that you built with your own two hands, becuase that is what happens in Isreal. Then New York, since when are muslims responsible for the acts of terrorists? Are catholics responsible for the bombing and terrorising of my country for almost 2 decades? Are you responsible for the acts of terror of Bush? Madrid i think ETA are the ones doing the bombing there. As for Londonistan what makes muslims responsible for the actions of a few extremists. What is it you want muslims to say? I suggest you get to know a few muslims and ask them there opinion.
Just wondering why as a moderate human being.....?
You dont speak up about innocent men, women, and children being murdered by your troups where is your march? where is your protest? Or do innocent dead people only count in your book if they are not muslims?

Moderate Muslims do speak up in their countries but the problem begins when majority of Muslims feel that they are being oppressed by a super power; in Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and now Iran. When young Muslims see double standards with connection to Israel and Iran.. when Israel has nuclear bomb and Iran doesn't... but the pressure is ON Iran. and no one speaks up!... When Muslim children see that children of their age are being massacred in shatila camp (Palestine) and no one is there to speak up!
THEN no one listens to moderate Muslims and majority will call them puppets of a super power, no matter how sincere they are.

Even as Al Gore refuses to debate scientists who disagree with him on whether global warming is natural or man caused so also the so called moderate Islamic teachers refuse to debate openly those world Islamic leaders who openly promote hate and violence and prove it from their holy books. Bottom line is it is easier and plainer from the Islamic texts to prove the cause of violence than the cause of peace so the Islamic leaders who are calling very clearly and openly for the destruction of all western culture and to impose Islamic law world wide have the "proof" on their side.

What are you talking about? Are they going to speak up against their own holy book. Between the quran and al hadeth there are (35213) verses and hadeth about killing, wars and terrorist against anyone who does not believe in islam. Are they going to say don't believe in the quran any more. Muslims can't even make peace with other people because of the quran and the hadeth. For example surat (tauba 5 and 29)surat (Anfal 60), 8:39, 3:85, and there are more and more. So if they do speak up, that mean they are going against their own religion.

Many moderate Muslims have spoken up, it just isn't given much press, people love to hear the bad things, that's what "news" is all about.

Moderate Muslims do speak up. The media just doesn't cover it. Hate sells better.
I wrote several fine letters to my local newspaper, but they didn't publish any of them. I sent copies to my senator and congressional representatives, and got bland but pleasant form letters back except for one who respectfully disagreed with me. I most appreciated the one who disagreed with me, because his answer was actually thought out and not a form letter.

maybe u dont hear them. and i think its fair to say that most of the muslims on here are moderate. but i guess they just dont answer the way u want to them to answer to qualify as a 'moderate muslim'

Many do. The media needs to give them more press/air time than the conservatives then the public's perception would change.

trust me many do speak up alot do but nobody cares they just want to show all the bad things muslims do and not actually what us good muslims do no one cares
