I'm not sure what the default directory is but in limewire go to Tools and then click on options and on the left click saving and it should show you the folder the files are saved to.
Oh and Limewire won't screw your computer in and of itself. I've used it for years with no problems. What screws your computer is recklessly and indiscriminately downloading things. Every other file on there is a virus so watch out.

Start up Limewire and go to the Preference and then click on "Saving" It will show you where the folder is for saving your downloads. You can also use this to choose another folder if you don't like the default location.

You need to set it up to go where you want when you are installing it, it does ask you where you want things downloaded to. They are probably going into your program files C drive you can change this from Limewire settings or re-install.

Open Limewire, click TOOLS then OPTIONS. It's under SAVING, it should say directory, that's where all your songs are going. Ayt? Your welcome.
(it should look somewhat like this)
D:\My Documents\Downloads\Songs

I just got it and it is easy
FIRST: get yahoo music jukebox (don't buy anything just keep it on your computer)
SECOND: Let all your music download when they are all done drag every song and put it in the jukebox
THIRD: now if you have cd burner you can burn them then delete the songs so you have more room to download more.
If not then just highlight then all and right click it and put them in my play list category and they will be saved for you to listen to them just like i am listening to mine.
HOPE THIS IS UNDERSTANDABLE GOOD LUCK!
