I like this question. I had a little trouble coming up with my speech in high school too.
She really just has to talk about whatever she finds interesting.
For example, I did mine on girls' obsession with being thin and beautiful. I mentioned the media, actors, models being role models for us etc.
One of my friends did the effects of smoking. My other friend did Boxing, she was really into it and wore the boxing shorts, a tank top and the gloves. She gave a brief history and showed a few of the positions. So really it can be anything. The "showing" part really takes up some time so it makes it a little easier than just talking for the full time. Good luck!!

Like reasons to expand the local library. Fighting a local airport's expansion. Raising money to care for the poor homeless dogs at the dog pound.
The trick is to come up with a good suggestion on how to make life better in your town or, in particular for the dogs at the pound, if you are an animal lover.
You might actually do some good.

i hated public speaking and the best topic i ever came up with for speech class is just that. Have the speech be about public speaking and how afraid of it people are. All of the other kids will relate and the teacher will be impressed too.

Maybe a speech on the death sentence or she could make it more in the form of a debate question, have the facts of pro. vs. con in her speech and let the kids decide what they think. If she makes it interesting, it is usually a good speech. hope this helps...
