1) Braid your hair at night then untie in the morning and put some hairspray. gel or Mousse. Don't brush out but use your fingers.

2)You could try some of those curling shampoos.

3) You could try a 3 barrel curling iron. A little faster and has waves.

4) Certain type of flattening irons also have wave plates

I use a special gel by Aveda to create wavey hair. I also have long, thick and straight hair and it works great. When your hairs wet you can put a little bit in and then blow dry it lightly or let it air dry. As your hair dry the gel curls your hair. Also, this product is great because it doesn't make your hair look greasy like some other hair products might.

Before i bought a curling iron, i slept with a bun so teh next day, it came out a bit wavy. You can also try sleeping with a big braid.

Braid it. Take some hair moose, dampen a section of hair, apply the moose, and braid it(all of your hair or only the part where you want to be wavy). You can let it air dry or blow dry it(with the braid still in). Then take it out...walah instant waves.

Yo can braid it, and leave it in them take it out, or you can curl it with a curling iron then brush it out lightly(just alittle) then spray hair spray in it so it stays in.
