Funny how some who do not believe in the existance of God use "odds" to placate a belief in alien races. Yet odds defy the plausibiulty of a radom Big Bang creating it all. You can not have it both ways.

as for the one(s) claiming to see UFOs. Why should I who have not seen what you have seen, believe what you say? Is this not the way of those who do not believe in God's existance? (not trying to be arguementative with you)

No and no. Also no ghosts, ESP, leprechauns, fairies at the bottom of the garden, or fair elections.

(Okay, I still believe in that last one -- but it's gettin' harder.)

1) Life exists on this planet.
2) There are billions and billions and billions of planets.
3) The odds of every single one of those planets being completely devoid of life are very, very, very slim.

Aliens and God are two totally different things. Scientists have already discovered several planets which may be Earth-like. And there's already life HERE, so we know for a fact, obviously, that planets in this universe can develop and sustain life. So if it happens here, why not elsewhere? You're comparing apples and oranges, man.

Edit: It doesn't matter what the odds were of the Big Bang resulting in a universe that eventually created us, because that's exactly what happened. The Big Bang isn't just some random guess created by a bunch of scientists -- it has a very large amount of evidence. You can't possibly come away with the idea that anything else happened, if you just look at it with an open mind. There's hardly any opposition to it in the scientific community anymore (the "steady state theory" has been completely disproven).

What creationism essentially says is that complex intelligence, God, was ALREADY THERE at the beginning of time. There was no before -- the most complex, advanced, complicated thing in the history of the universe was ALREADY THERE right from the start. It did not have to evolve, it did not have to be created from anything -- it just appeared, instantly, in all its complexity. What are the odds of THAT?

What do you mean there's no tangible evidence for UFOs? All UFO means is unidentified flying object. There's plenty of evidence for flying objects that we can't identify.

To a nearsighted dog, a frisbee is a UFO.

As far as alien races go - if life is capable of developing here on Earth, why couldn't it develop elsewhere in the universe? I seriously doubt Earth was merely a fluke of some kind. The building blocks for life are abundant in the universe. The same process that created life on Earth could have created life elsewhere.

most atheists never really think about god until they look at christianity, then they dont believe in the christian god and from there on they have to grasp w/ how the big bang works, and from there the link b/w space and time, and the real proof for god comes when time travel is understood. a lot of this stuff goes way beyond where man is at on the evolutionary scale just to have some idea of how you fit into the big picture.

what is the tangible evidence of God existing?

what i believe: UFO's visiting earth, no. alien life existing, yes. life doesnt have to be advanced to be life. a one celled amoeba is life. reason for believing life exist elsewhere is: probability, sheer numbers. there are billions of planets in the universe.

advanced alien races somewhere, more than likely, same reason as above. advance much more rare than simple life form, for obvious reasons.

I think there is probably life on other planets. With billions of galaxies (each with their own solar systems and suns) and who knows HOW many trillions of planets out there, I'd find it difficult to believe that we're the ONLY planet with life on it. I don't believe in space ships or little green men. I don't like to call them UFO's or "Aliens" because I don't think of them as some science-fiction or supernatural thing. I just think of it as someone who lives somewhere else that we haven't seen yet.

If you're trying to compare believing in life on other planets to believing in God, they are two totally different things. The belief in life on other planets is not a SUPERNATURAL thing, anymore than life in other countries on Earth being a supernatural thing. "God" is a supernatural thing.

No, you're making appropriate sense. there is not any reason to have faith aliens could be right here. in fact, its incredibly rediculous to think of that they could be right here doing issues that folk declare they do (crashing, making monuments, mutilating farm animals, making designs in corn field, abducting human beings etc). the main intense word human beings forget approximately approximately in the word unidentified flying merchandise is unidentified. Its an merchandise that the guy status on the floor will no longer be able to at latest perceive. maximum folk don't be concerned attempting, they only assume its aliens through fact its too a lot attempt to discover a extra life like clarification. Plus they get sucked in by potential of each and all of the hype and tv classes and such that tell them that something they see in the sky that they might't at latest perceive must be an alien spacecraft. to no longer point out maximum of human beings getting sucked in by potential of the fad on youtube to make the final pretend paranormal/unidentified flying merchandise movies and submit them as actual. incredibly, people who checklist ufos extra often than not see issues like Venus, airplanes, helicopters, toy balloons, climate balloons. i assume such as you, i've got not got faith there are aliens from yet another planet right here on earth. So i do no longer think of your point of view is loopy in any respect.

Atheists can believe in a lot of things. A lot believe in reincarnation, UFOs, afterlife, etc.

All that atheism means is lack of belief in Gods.

There is the theory that UFOs are really time machines and are earth beings from our far distant future. (it is said that the past, present, and future all exist at the same time) I guess this theory is just as valid as any.

in this huge natural universe operating on such a large timescale I'd say life in another region is pretty likely. Likelier than christian god by a very large margin.

UFOs flying over earth is nonsense, of course.

Yes, why? Because of two reasons.

1) the universe is so vast that it is inconcievable to believe that we are the only inteligent life out there

2) Following abiogenisis (I believe that's the name for it) and evolution, chances are that in our vast universe another planet would have similar properties to earth, and in the end perhaps creating inteligent life forms
