Appreciate it, absolutely.

Respect it, absolutely.

Respect anyone's and everyone's right to believe differently than myself and to express that belief, absolutely.

Just don't ever deny me that right as well. That's not a comment specific to you. It's a general comment.

There's a speech made near the end of the movie "The American President" on this subject. I liked that speech so much that I made a point of getting every word of it. It's the following:

"America isn’t easy. America is advanced citizenship. You’ve got to want it bad. Because it’s going to put up a fight. It’s going to say you want free speech? Let’s see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who’s standing centre stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you had spent a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free, then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of it’s citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that. Defend that. Celebrate that in your classrooms. Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free."

America isn't the only such country. Your parents were unfortunate to have been born and possibly raised in one of the far too many countries on this planet that have no clue.

I believe that the freedom of speech and religion are some of the most important rights in this country. More blood has been shed in the name of God than for any other reason. Watch that speech thing though. It's not as free as you think.

There is an awful lot you can't say in many parts of the States and I always felt like I was having one religion or another forced on me as a kid there. You should have seen the level of freedom Great Britain achieved in the 70's, nowhere in the world will achieve that level of real freedom again, (partly due to technology).

Yes, but freedoms here are subjected to a new kind of censorship; political correctness. One can lose their job, or be barred from politics for taking an absolute stand on certain topics.

Very much so!

Yes, it's true that here in the U.S., some people who don't like what you say will give you a hard time.

But you do have legal recourse if they do you serious harm.

Although the U.S. isn't perfect on this issue, it's better than a lot of other countries.

I appreciate it. Christians, however, do not. They like to follow a book (the Bible) that runs counter to the American Constitution.

They do not support democracy (He rules;Psalms 2,89,110: the King is Yawweh's son), freedom of religion (no other gods allowed) or freedom of speech (no blasphemy).

Yes I do, and I hope it lasts as long as possible. The political correctness movement threaten our freedom of speech and religion.

Of course I do, although with some of the caustic answers I have given in the past, I have wondered whether my home might be targeted or bombed!

yes to both
The PC crowd is pushing their views and wanting opposing views to be banned (example:christianity).Freedom means accepting not only what you believe but also accept public speaking and displaying of things you dislike (example:Confederate flag).
