I like the idea that before you can ask God to forgive you for a sin, you have to ask the person you committed the sin against to forgive you. Christians would probably commit a lot less sins if they had to do that. It is easy to ask thin air to forgive you for a sin, it's harder to ask a real person.

Good point! I agree.
I am not guilty of "original sin" just because I'm human. Therefore, I don't need to be forgiven for it.
Punishing all of humankind for what Adam and Eve allegedly did in biblical times is like a teacher making the whole class stay after school because one or two kids acted up in class.

You don't have to be forgiven for a sin that you didn't commit.
I suppose someone could forgive anyone they want for anything but it makes no sense.

If you haven't committed a sin, you wouldn't need forgiveness in the first place - sort of like being let out of a jail you weren't in :-)
