Looking for an appartment in the Richmond City / surrounding areas. Moving from Dallas to Richmond with two dogs, a small pug and a big old yellow lab. I'm also moving there with my girlfriend who is 4 months pregnant so we're looking for at least a two bedroom with an expected baby. Any help would be much appreciated. Open to appartments, where it would be nice to meet people, but also open to houses, town homes, etc...

Thanks!

man, when i lived in richmond the coolest/ most eclectic part of town was an area called "the fan"; this was between 2000 to 2002 and from talking with old friends it's the same today. very historic, close to VCU and U of Richmond, museums, historic monuments, bars, chicks, and great places to walk your animals.... but i didn't have a dog at the time. good thing though is there are several apartment locators for this area and property management companies with good inventories listed in the phone book. people are pretty progressive and will work with you on pets for the most part as evidenced by the tons of dogs being walked in this area when i lived there. highly recommended to find a few property management companies and see what's available. everything is walking distance and friendly.

the west side of town is where you'll find the "cookie cutter" apartment communities with more corporate type leases; i.e. pet deposits, animal clauses, etc. so with additional money it shouldn't be that bad. in this area i would have any one recommendation over another.

good luck and if you see my ex-girlfriend tell i said she's still a *****... ;)

Try apartmentfinder.com or rent.com and look up richmond apartments on google.

Most apartment searches have amenities you can search for. Just click on 'pet-friendly'. Some have rules about how big they are, but you'll find that out by calling or visiting their websites.

Good luck.

You can own as many dogs up to 6 (I think) and it has to be Below 60(I think)I would look up what the weight limit is for dogs because it can be different weights for different appartments.
