Do they believe penguins evolved from other types of birds? Or have all the species of birds existed in the beginning of earth? Was there only one breed of cat in the beginning and they micro evolved?

Changes within genus or species by normal and natural genetic processes.

There are many instances where this has been noted UNDER SCIENTIFIC EXAMINATION. Gradual changes in populations because a particular group within the population is in some way better equipped to cope with their changing environment.

Creationists did not accept evolution of any kind for a long time. Evolution was demonstrated in a laboratory with speciation occurring in some insects and worms. The speciation could not be denied, the experiments were repeated. Creationists had to accept that new species could evolve. They called this "microevolution".

The next blow came with Noah's Ark. Various people did the maths and demonstrated that the Ark could not possibly hold two of every species (and seven of all the clean species). It was just too small. Microevolution and the use of the word "kind" gave the creationists an out and so they claimed only two of each "kind" was required. Two horses could accommodate all the horses, zebras, donkeys etc. By restricting the animals thus they could allegedly fit them in the Ark.

This means that they allow not only new species to evolve but also new genera and even families in some creationist twaddle I have read. New genera and families are macroevolution even by creationist definitions.

The more science learns about evolution - and it has more and stronger evidence than most other scientific theories like gravity, electricity and the germ theory of disease - the more compromises the creationists have to make. These days, they don't even compromise, they just lie.

There is an interesting paper on macroevolution here:

Microevolution is the occurrence of small-scale changes in allele frequencies in a population, over a few generations, also known as change at or below the species level.

These changes may be due to several processes: mutation, natural selection, gene flow, genetic drift and nonrandom mating.

Population genetics is the branch of biology that provides the mathematical structure for the study of the process of microevolution. Ecological genetics concerns itself with observing microevolution in the wild. Typically, observable instances of evolution are examples of microevolution; for example, bacterial strains that have antibiotic resistance.

Microevolution can be contrasted with macroevolution; which is the occurrence of large-scale changes in gene frequencies, in a population, over a geological time period (i.e. consisting of lots of microevolution). The difference is largely one of approach. Microevolution is reductionist, but macroevolution is holistic. Each approach offers different insights into evolution.

OK the short answer is micro means animals might have "adapted" into other forms of that same species type. Like the pepper moth (I think that's the name). Or that Giraffes necks over time grew longer as those with longer necks were able to breed etc.

What they do not like is Macro evolution where a microbe turns into a turtle or an Ape a man.

Personally, I do not think it matters as long as you credit God as the creator. No matter the device or time frame God still did it and no one else can duplicate it.

Because technically it shouldn't be called micro-evolution but Adaptation, In the Bible it says that God created every animal after its own kind. So we thought of adaptation way before evolution came onto the scene, so basically you are going into our theory
