Our cat jumps up to the counter and tears apart bags of bread. We can't tell if she's eating it, or just terrorizing the joint, but she love food, so she probably is. Any ideas why she might be doing this???

Well, she could be doing it for shits-n-giggles. I'd say keep the cat off fo the counter, that might help. There is a double sided sticky tape that you can buy just about any where. Get some and put it along the length of the counter in rows. When kitty jumps up there, she will take off as they hate sticky stuff on the bottoms of their paws.

I have a cat who will eat anything that I eat except tomatoes and lettuce. He is especially fond of jalepino cheese on pumpernickle with mayo if you please. I also have a Siamese who tears apart any packages that she finds. Also a gray cat (Morris) that I call slick because he is slick as grease when I open the door for any reason and he goes right between my legs. Who knows why your cat eats bread. Who knows why the boy down the street sleeps with his basketball. Cats are crazy and fun and, like humans, have their own little thing to drive us bonkers. LOL

I had a cat that would do that but he never would actually eat it. He would bite holes in the bag and tear little holes in it. I think it was more less just being a bad kitty. I got a bread box and well he couldn't do it anymore.

I don't know why she's doing this, but be careful--my cat tried eating rice that I had left on the counter once, and he threw up all over the kitchen floor. Not a pretty sight.

Well, cats like different things. Some like table food and stay away from cat food. Some like dog food. I know my cat hates table meat. Some cats like milk, some don't. Some like bread, some don't.

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Learn more http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?9LM1

The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don’t achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren’t putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.

The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.

Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

My cat likes toast but especially toast and jam. He will lick all the crumbs from our breakfast plates if we let him so usually we have to allow him the crusts or risk breakfast stealing!
He also prefers to drink water from our glasses so every time I get a glass cold water for me and the bloke I have to get one for the Kitty!
Cold roast pork and chicken is also a favourite.
