I have seen cats live as long as 20 years. It is possible considering the cats living arrangements. An indoor cat will live much longer than an outside cat. Proper medical exams and a good diet is also very good for any cat.

My girl... that is indoor, and one that I bottle fed and raised... is going to be 19 in April!!!!! :) She is doing pretty well... I take her in for regular exams and they say she is above average for her age. I just pray she gets in the Guiness Books because I just can't live without my baby girl!! I think everyone is right... they can get to 14-15 but they also can last to 20... I have heard one lived to be 22. You never know. Just treat your cats well and yes the diet is important but so is stress!! Stress is the main killer of humans..and our pets feel what we feel.. so try to remain calmer around your cat if you can.. Science has proved that the cats PURR is actually something that Always (not sometimes) lowers blood pressure. Kind of a gift to you!!
Hold your cat often then so that you are both calm and at more peace... that should prolong both your lives!!

between 15 years and 20 if you are luck. Indoor cats live longer. It really just depends on thier kidneys and how long they hold out. A good diet will enlong it life. Giving your cats foos like Friskies is like feeding McDonalds everyday. Somegood foods are Nutro max and Sience Diet. Ask the Vet or thepet food store what the foods with no byproducts & fillers are.

up to 15-20 years if they are very healthy, but sometimes they have health problems and only make it to 10 or less. Cats live longer than dogs and most pets.

My cat is 22 years old. born September 15, 1984! Healthy and happy. A little slower( not much) than she used to be, but every morning that she wakes me up, makes my day! I know in my heart it is just a matter of time, and she truly is a blessing!

If you take care of them, around 20 years. But if you're really a cat nurturer, you can get them to live up to about 30 years.

Cats can live into their twenties. I had a cat who lived 19 1/2 years, and it broke my heart when she died. I still miss her, and she died 10 years ago.

My dad is a vet and says they usually live from 14 to 17. Though it can vary with what type of breed of cat you have and what conditions it might have.

It depends on their health.

I had a cat that lived for 9 years....she passed away due to cancer.
& I also have a cat that is now in her 15th year...I pick on her sometimes by saying that she needs a wheelchair & a cup of applesauce.
