Realize that your past mistakes are just as important as your past triumphs when it comes to your current state of being. You probably learned a lot from your mistakes, and that benefits you today. Own your past mistakes, and be proud that you made it through them. Experience teaches us and makes us strong. If you feel guilty about some wrongdoing that hurt others, then forgive yourself. The guilt is more of a hindrance than a help to you. And, if you can, ask the person you hurt for their forgiveness. Whether they forgive you or not, at least you will have unburdened your heart.

I believe that things happen for a reason, even if we don't consciously understand the reason at that time (or ever). I usually meditate to get in contact with my Creator and think about that mistake and ask myself, "what kind of lesson can I learn from this? How does this make me a better person?" I let the answers flow to my mind from the Creator and I usually end up finding out that I am better off making that mistake. To me, life is a spiritual journey, you have to make mistakes along the way in order to learn. Nobody ever comes to this Earth as a perfect being. I hope this helps you. Peace

You just have to remember that you don't have the ability to change the past, but you do have the ability to create a better present. Just keep moving on. You have to learn to forgive yourself. You are only human, and being human means being flawed and making mistakes. Just make the best with what you have now and your past won't matter anymore.

well that's a pretty open question. i can explain it to you in my words based off of your question or you can email me at mancan92@hotmail.com the basic principle to getting away from past mistakes is just living. throughout the years your guilty conscience will go away supporting that you don't relive them from time to time. if you are that conscious about a mistake made simply promise yourself that you will not make that same mistake twice, and live up to it. life is all about what you make it and you can go from there. ANY MISTAKE MADE ONCE IS UNDERSTANDABLE ANY MISTAKE MADE TWICE IS UNFORGIVABLE...any further questions just email

hey from one niger sis to another, just think about the angst the guilt is causing you. it's easier said than done, but you have to make a choice, a purposeful decision to let it go. all experiences whether good or bad all happens for a reason and rather than focusing on the bad aspect, think about the lessons you have learnt. and also if you believe in God, then you know that with all bad things that happen he always finds a way to turn them around for our own benefit/good.

Well, I have a completely long answer for this. First it starts with God and knowing that if you've asked for forgiveness your "sins" and guilt are on the ocean floor.

BUT... I won't spend a long time talking about that, because I don't want to turn you off. But the main thing is forgiveness. Forgive anyone who is part of the past guilt and forgive yourself.

Give it all to GOD. Sometimes we feel our lowest because of all the dirty little things we've done, but GOD knows it all and he loves you anyway. Confess with your mouth to the Lord and ask him to cleanse you. That's all you have to do. If you still feel guilty, then ask yourself why and try to forgive yourself.
