you know we can't hold our own water so by the time weve done our little dance and wriggled down the clothes we dont want to end up with our bums submerged in water kissing our knees thats why!OK

I don't know about the girls you know, but *I* have never piddled over the seat. It's wrong for you *blokes* because a woman will enter a dark bathroom at night, and when you leave the seat up, she's going to fall in! Not comfortable. Females were not blessed with a portable spout like you have. We have to sit down to pee, and to sit down we need a SEAT, love, not hard cold porcelain!

I think you'll find by the usual stench comming from MALE public loos as oppose to female public loos (which smell but are not as gagging) that men are the ones who miss the goal. Maybe some women are letting down the rest but I know friends who would not consider leaving a loo seat un wiped.

Plus when wyou flush the loo with the loo seat down and cover down, all the germs spray onto the underside of the loo seat,-which you guys then leave up?! What if you need to sit on the loo- for what ever reason, do you want a back coated in bacteria and miuter drops of faeces and urine?

or is that a guy thing?

Now why would women "piddle" on the seat when we actually sit on it. It is men who drip on the seat. It is not wrong to leave the seat up but the lid of toilet should be closed for flushing to stop particles of waste ending up in the room - its a hygiene thing. It also looks ugly and why is it impossible for men to do.

The proper etiquette is to put the ENTIRE seat down when finished for both genders, so that the bowl is not exposed, that is the purpose of having a LID on the commode! However, in casual surroundings it is the person who FACES the facility when using it to make sure it is flushed and properly closed. (Also. BOTH genders are responsible for using a tissue to wipe any residue left on the seat).

I think it's just a habit. I don't care; I know how a toilet seat works, it's not like I can't put it down. And I've never sat on the rim, I never go when it's so dark I couldn't see whether it's up or down. Do people really do that?

because it's polite! us girls don't know whether you will need to stand or sit when you go to the toilet but you know that w will always need to sit down. the polite thing is to put the seat down for us. have you ever gone to the loo in the dark and sat on the loo without the seat down. it is not a pleasant experience. c'mon lads give us a break and be nice!

If you leave the seat up, then that means leaving the LID up, and that's a bad idea, especially if you have pets or kids.

If your wife/girlfriend/sister/friend pees on the seat... you need to get her to a doctor YESTERDAY.

Every man that I know "shakes" dry and when he does that he leaves drips of disgusting smelly pee on the rim of the toilet. No one wants to see that. Besides, those with young children should always keep both lids down to prevent accidents such as drowning from occuring.

If you sprinkle
When you tinkle
Be a sweetie
And wipe the seatie. :)

Seriously...put the seat down. Know what, I've never had that issue with my husband, and we've been married 13 years.
