No lie...Spray and Wash will dissolve even most permanent markers from most surfaces and won't mar the paint finish.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
I have used it when my daughter spilled nail polish on my
oak wood coffee table. She had spread it out really nicely !
I noticed it after if had dried. I had tried everything. Then I
used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, it worked ! It doesn't leave
any scratches or anything. It's a real little miracle if you have kids. Also worked very well and purple marker on her bedroom wall !
Good Luck with that ! OMG I sound like a made for TV Ad !

Depending on the marker, I have used either, alcohol, perfume, hair spray, and the last resort is a white sponge that they sell at Home Depot, Walmart, etc. It takes off everything so far in my house. My daughter painted a white wood chest with a blue sharpie, and this with a little bit of water did the trick.

it is a good Sponge to have, some call it "miracle sponge", Also Mr. Clean has one too, you just have to look for them in the cleaning isle. Good Luck.

Rubbing alcohol should remove it, but chances are pretty good, you'll then need to repaint...
