Also, what customs @ homecoming or other dances also apply here (e.g. corsage, etc.)?

The proper etiquette is that the young lady should pay for the dance and dinner, however it would not be a breach for the gentleman to leave a tip or pay for the valet. It would also be appropriate to buy her a corsage. It has become the general standard in today's etiquette for the "asker" of the date to be the "payer" regardless of the gender. If you are going as "friends" it is completely acceptable to go "dutch" but be certain that it is understood up front that you are going as "friends".

Sadie Hawkins Date

The social rule is the person doing the asking, pays for the date. At Sadie Hawkins, the girl does the asking and pays for everything. She even arranges transportation. She even offers the tips. If there is a post-dance function, or wants to go out for dinner after, she asks the boy, and she pays. The only thing she would not pay for is her own corsage. If she feels uncomfortable doing the tipping, she should give the tip to the gentleman, who offers it. In certain circles it might be considered unladylike to offer a tip to a valet, but that is rare, only for very snooty upscale places, like a country club, or a very exclusive restaurant.
It would be very gentlemanly to offer to pay the tips.
As far as the rest of the dances, homecoming, valentines, the old rule applies. The one asking does the paying. Though it is a modern girl who feels comfortable asking boys out, most still wait at home to be asked. The girl never pays for her own corsage, though somtimes parents like to buy that, check with them to see. Should she want to pay for it, fine.
Snicker, the Sadie Hawkins gives boys the oportunity to see how it is for girls. Be sure and put money in your pocket for emergency phone calls, transportation, [make sure your cell phone is charged], and the cost of the meal, in case your date "forgets her purse" like some boys "forget their wallet."
Hope this helps.

Girls should pay for Sadie Hawkins dance, but it wouldn't hurt for the guy to have some money in his pocket, just in case. And because the couple might want to go out for something to eat afterwards.

She pays if she asked. Nice treat for a gentleman huh.would nice if you carried some cash for tip, or incidentials that might come up and it would be nice to get her a corsage. Enjoy your evening.

No; if the girl asks the guy out, the girl pays. It's turnabout all the way, not just in the asking!
