i have darkish brown hair but i was thinking of lightening it not for guys but just because i want to but i was just curious

lighten it. make it look slightly blond. at least thats what i like

it totally depends on the person and their attributes----skin color, face shape, length of hair, style of dress, etc.
But, if you really want to, might as well try it out! Why not? You could get temporary dye and see if you like it too, before you go permanent.
EDIT: I've had blonde and then later light brown hair my whole life. And I really like really dark brown hair on some people. I think it looks really classy. Come on guys, this blonde thing on every chick is getting really old and cheap.

Guys usually are attracted to blondes first.. but in the end they go for dark hair. Its mysterious!! I have studied this alot in different social gatherings.

It doesn't matter what your hair color is. Guys will like you as you are, and you don't have to change just to gain attention.
