It doesn't MAKE you lose weight but many people find it put them off food for that little bit longer. so it may help in that respect.

If you are chewing sugarless, or calorie free gum, you are exercising the muscles in your jaw, and thus, burning calories.

Also, the reason you said applies also.

However, the effects of chewing gum are probably pretty small when it comes to losing weight.

Sugar is evil. When i chosing food make sure its low in glycemic index which means it doesnt give you an insulin spike, sugar = fat. The problem I get from chewing gum is that it makes you bloated from the air. a healthy snack is probably better, go for fruit its usually healthier. gum is probably 10 calories (if ur counting) a melon is around 40 and it fills u up really well. so its up to u really....

well probably not a lot...but when u talk u burn calories so i guess chewing would also burn calories. chewing gum probably doesnt make u less hungry, but the minty taste of it does. try brushing ur teeth after dinner and u might not get hungry.

During WW2 my granny used to say 'Got any gum, chum' to the American soldiers in England but she got rather fat. Okay it was with child and she was chewing gum.

It does not make you lose weight. The only thing it does is make your teeth worse. But that only depends on if its sugarless gum or gum with sugar in it.
