I want to organize different photos in a way to create a single picture that I can then work from to do a painting. The process I went through to try to chat with HP was just too much of a project that had me pulling what remaining hair I had left, out of my scalp.

Only with some image editing software! The printer wont come with this kind of software!

The scanning may be done with the HP 5610 but the rest is done with other software - like Adobe photoshop or others which are available. First scan the photos to your desktop and put them into one folder then look at Kim Kommando's web site where she has several downloads that are free or free to try for a few days. Pick one or some and try them out.
