Females are usually easier to find homes for. I don't have much of a preference because both have there positives and negatives. I currently have 3 males and 2 females.

Its probably about a draw. Female dogs are reputed to be calmer and better with children, but its not true. I have a female chocolate lab that my kids are afraid to go near. My parents never bought anything but male dogs, mainly because they do not get pregnant and have puppies that you then have to find a home for.

Female dogs tend to find a home before males do. My preference is both. I love both sexes of dogs and I just love dogs in general. But if I HAD to pick, I'd have to say the girls. In my experience, they are just a WHOLE lot easier to live with and to train.

I would guess that female dogs find homes faster than male dogs. I have always had female dogs and I haven't really considered getting a male.

I'm not sure but I'll say this, I had a female Fox Terrier. When I saw her I fell in love with her. She was three years old. She was 14 when she passed. She was a very quiet sweet dog. Three years ago I saw my Sam (male Schnauzer) and fell in love with him. He is a lot more vocal and demanding than my Bonnie Dog. But I think it is the breed not the sex that makes them so different. I wouldn't trade my time with either of them. I choose my Sam based on his personality. Any dog breeder will tell you when picking a pup you should visit and play with the pups to see how they respond to you. My girlfriend ended up with Sam's brother. He didn't pay me any mind at the time I ran across him and his brother and a sister. But now he is happy to see me when he has a play date with his brother.

I have been a breeder for many years and in my opinion/experience with selling pups that males always go first.. people are always calling wanting males. i think people want males because neutering them is less expensive than it is too spay a female , also people dont have to worry about heat cycles and the mess that goes with it. im not sure with i perfer personally. as i em both!!! but every breeder i know personally agree's males go first!! in my experience my clients want males more often then females and i have been breedeing for many years.

Just a rumor... but I'm pretty sure female dogs find a home first. They are also my preference, as female dogs tend (not always) to be less hyper.
