For one thing, if your looking at women in magazines and t.v stop. Many of those women had their bodies airbrushed and touched up. When I wanted to loose weight I watched the amount of calories I was consuming. Everytime you go to eat something turn the box around and check the calories. Most inviduals at your height only consume about 1500 calories. If your going over that amount each day, your eating too much carbs or just plain eating too much. Make sure you follow the food guide and excercise as well. Try getting involved in an activity with a friend. But most of all, don`t have unrealistic weight loss goals set for yourself. Make sure you keep to the weight that is comfortable for you!! Maybe a size 8 is right for you!! You know size 0 is really not the average size that most women wear. I`m 5 3 and I wear a size 6.

You need to eat healthy and excerize. Dieting may be a quick fix but as soon as you stop the diet and resume normal eating you'll probably put weight back on. It's better to eat a balanced diet with plenty of lean meat and fresh fruit and vegies, and drink LOTS of water. You should excerize at least three times a week for half an hour. If you want to tone your tummy up do some sit ups. and running will probably help with your thighs. You need a healthier body image. I'm sure you are a beautiful person on the inside and out and you need to remember that. A lot of women have mushy stomachs and big thighs, it's not that abnormal. Remember to love yourself. It's so important.

I think you are on the right track. Exercise and diet. It will slowly come off and you wont feel like you are seeing much of a result a first, but one, afew months down the road, you'll look in the mirror and think wow!

If you want a serious answer to your problem, then this is it.
Rather than focus just on losing weight, focus on being healthy. Forcing out food from your diet WILL make you depressed. It will alter your mind just like a drug to make you flip out over things you should not. You know how when someone is tired and/or hungry, they will be snappy and irritable and pissed off? You should eat plenty, but eat healthy things, especially vegetables. Vegetables have basically no calories (so they can't make you fat), and they clean out your intestines making you skinnier and healthier. Plus they are loaded with vitamins which are scientifically shown to help you with your depression and the burning of fat.
If I were you I would first eat lots of vegetables, whichever ones you like the most (and fruits are not vegetables! anything sweet tasting is not a vegetable. Carrots and onions are as sweet as vegetables get. A tomato is a fruit. There is no denying that. Tomatos are botanically AND nutritionally fruits, don't be confused).
The reason I say that is that if you eat a bunch of vegetables it will be great for you in so many ways. Fruits are not as nutritional as vegetables. Fruits are good, but eating too many of them will cause a sugar rush, and consequently a sugar crash, which most people do not notice, but I do... and it makes people more irritable, more nervous, and more likely to be sad for the next couple hours. Sometimes I think you can get stomach aches from eating a bunch of fruit because of the acidity, but I'm not sure about that. Fruits also have a lot of sugar in them, which means calories, which means they hurt your cause.
Anyway, nuts also are kind of like the vegetables. Very healthy as well, with little to no calories.
Oh, and most vegetables need to be cooked. Try eating a broccoli stalk uncooked, its going to be tough to impossible.
So all in all my recommendations are this:
Ask your mom or whoever cooks for you to have cooked vegetables with most of your meals.
Ask to have a supply of vegetables as a snack: carrots, celery, and sugar snap peas or snow peas (a lot of people like those even though they're not so common.)
Also have lots of nuts. Eat as many of the vegetables and nuts as you can. The digestion of these foods burn more calories than the calories that they give you! So all the vegetables and nuts you eat will help you lose weight! And they will make you healthier, which means skinnier. Plus they will help curb your appetite. I especially suggest when you are doing something like watching TV or anything, have a bowl of nuts and/or vegetables and just slowly munch on them over time.
Nuts and vegetables simply help you in many more ways than you realize. They are also loaded with these things called phytochemicals which scientists are only beginner to discover have lots and lots of benefits, like better skin, less risk of disease... so on.
I recommend focus on eating less meat. Let me clear up a common myth these days.
Most people believe that foods with carbohydrates are what make people fat. WRONG. Sorry, but people DO NOT get fat by eating rice! Rice nutritionally is almost exactly the same as white bread. Why should we believe people get fat from rice, white bread, pasta, and cereal? These foods don't contain fat! Are you going to tell me that people are not getting fat from all the FAT that they eat in animals. Its sort of ridiculous, however there is some bit of truth to what people think these days.
Rice, white bread, pasta, and cereal are rich in carbohydrates. You can be successful at losing weight by cutting down on these foods because it will essentially starve your body of energy. However, remember that there are only 3 sources of energy for your body: sugar, fat, and carbohydrates. The third one is by far the healthiest. So cutting out carbohydrates may be a good strategy for losing weight, but it is not a good strategy for general health.
Really there are two successful diet strategies for weight loss: aim to cut out carbs, or aim to cut out meat. The second is way way better for you and ideal. Try to do the second one first. If you can't, try to do the first one.
Another important thing, you really should be taking a daily multivitamin for three reasons! 1 you are depressed, 2 you want to lose weight, and 3 you are probably aiming to start eating less, which means you should probably take a vitamin to make sure that you are not deficient in your vitamins and minerals.
You may be depressed from a vitamin or mineral deficiency, which like a drug is causing your mind to stress over things. I know many fat people that are very happy.
Now, since you are depressed you need to at least talk about it with one of your parents. This is really important. It might be hard, but in the long run it is much better that you talk to them. Maybe show them all the suggestions I have made.
You may benefit from counseling as well. Talk to your mom about whether she thinks you should see a therapist.
Other than that, be sure and exercise! Really think about all the different possibilities for exercise. If you can find one that you honestly enjoy, then you are much, much more likely to succeed at losing weight. Try to find exercise that you will enjoy because you will do more of it if you enjoy it. Maybe playing a physical game with a friend? Swimming? Jumping on a trampoline? Riding a bike?
When you do exercise remember that you should expect to build muscle. This a good thing because every little bit that you build muscle, that muscle needs energy at all times, even when you are sleeping! It takes energy to build the muscle too/ This use of energy, means more burning of fat! But I recommend measuring your weight by waist size. The reason for this you may gain weight just by gaining muscle and drinking more water. So then you would think you had gained fat, but really you are getting closer to your goal. So this would be a bad thing. The size of your waist is a better measurement in my opinion.
Good luck to you and e-mail me if you have any questions!
