I had my hair Chemically Straightened a week and a half ago and it's already coming undone. It seems every time I wash my hair it becomes more wavey. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen- could it be the shampoo im using?

I've been using "Head & Shoulders"...but since I got my hair straightened when I wash my hair with it, it like dosent work very good. Like you know when you use shampoo and you scrub it into your hair it gets bubbly and stuff...well it dosent do that anymore, it felt like it was putting thick gel into my hair or something.
My hair is naturally wavy, dry and poofy- and I dont normally wash it for a couple days.

If you get your hair chemically straightened at a good salon, they usually reccommend what products you should use to maintain the look. The products usually uses words such as 'smoothing' and 'relaxing'. I'm surprised they didn't try to cop you out of more money with high end salon products. Just find a place where you can purchase these kind of products, and use the best lines to hope you can fix it (i.e. Biolage, TIGI, Redken, etc).

If you have naturally curly hair, a chemical straightener will come out as soon as you start getting new growth, unless you got a permanent chemical straightener which usually last about 6 to 8 months. I would suggest using a smoothing shampoo, and a straightening iron such as a Chi iron, and Chi also has some straightening shampoos and conditioners, Joico also has a smoother you apply before blow drying, called straight smoother, it works real well too. I am a hairdresser. Hope this helps.

nicely in the previous you do something like the will arises constantly do your study. I even have heard too many memories approximately chemically straightened hair, and that they do no longer seem to be sturdy. So i might say do no longer do it. And basically positioned money right into a very sturdy flat iron, and anti-frizz products. Its a a lot much less of achievable. additionally, the reason your hair continues to be wavy in spots is in view which you're no longer taking it slow to straighten it. Its a protracted technique for curly/wavy hair.

i straighten my hair and I was very satisfied. my hair is naturraly very wavy, curly even and i have quite a lot of it too. at least 6months straight straigh like after a salon blow dry with any shampoo. did u keep it down for 5 days without washing it after the precedure? thats what u r meant to do. shampoo doesnt matter as long as its not curly purpose. but i would advice u to go back to who did it. coz maybe the one who did it just did it badly. i was very glad ive done it, 6months it was amazing, then i just had to straighten the roots but still looked really nice.

Your hair is like your body. It wants to be what it wants to be. Think of Oprah Winfrey...fat, skinny, fat, skinny, then fat again. It's hard to fight genetics. So, here is a solution: Try Mixed Chicks products (www.mixedchicks.net). They will help tame the waves and the frizz as your hair turns back to normal. Then, when it is all the way back, keep using Mixed Chicks. Their leave-in, for example, is applied to wet hair and you air dry. It takes away frizz without being sticky or heavy. Then, if you must straighten your hair, put a little Mixed Chicks on the ends, and blow or iron it straight. Good luck.

If you paid to have it done 10 days ago you should not have waves now. Call the person that did you hair for an appointment. You want them to see your hair in person asap, not just talk to you about it over the phone. They need to SEE what's going on.
Regardless of the shampoo, you should not have waves yet. You usually get waves when your hair grows out, the "roots" will be curly when they grow in.
There is no excuse for you to have waves already. Go back to the salon!

I think there has been a problem with the neutralising stage, why not make a appointment for a blow dry and tell the stylist your concerns, also the shampoo you are using does not have enough conditioning properties in it for chemically straitened hair.I'm certain the salon would rather sort it out for you and give you what you paid for.GOOD LUCK.

I would ask the salon what shampoo/conditioner you should use. I know I have to use special kinds for my colored hair or it will fade faster. I also was told to wash my hair in cooler luke warm water rather then hot. Also, try not to wash your hair for 2-3 days.

Did the person who did your hair give you directions, like not to wash it for at least 24 hours? If so did you follow them? And if you did then i would go back to the salon as quickly as possible and ask them what to do.
