I'm a few years older then a friend of mine. Last night I was turning some cards and came to the conclusion that one of my friends would be getting married. Instantly I called my friend.
When I asked her she not only told me that she did indeed have plans to marry, but that this man was 40 years old.
HELP? She's a mother already and I feel that she is immature. What is my plan of action?

I'm really sorry what I'm going to say but I will anyway ,your friend kind of change places with the brain located in her head is no longer there is in her G spot .is a shame what happen and you are totally right she is way in mature ...you are really a good friend and very smart I'm happy for you ,but her is an other history .
is nothing you can do sweetie ,she wants to do what she wants no matter what ,no even her mom can stop it her other wise.
people like that is rare to listen ...keep talking to her but do not get hopes ,there is a way to keep then a part because that guy can be her father tell the police about him tell her mom ,he may end it up on jail for that depends in what State , do not waist time
that guy is a freaking looser and she does not how unhappy she will be just in a couple years .

She's a mom at 17?
I don't care if you've graduated school. You're not the subject of discussion here. You actually have some wits about you.
You're not 17. You're not in love with a man old enough to be your father. You're not the immature little girl who is playing real-world and not ready to accept failures. Does she think that she will go to college? I bet you she'll be pregnant within the year.
HE should be jailed for satuatory rape, among other things. He is taking away this girl's childhood. And yes, she IS a girl.
She is in for a major wake-up call when she realizes she doesn't even know her "husband" and that marriage is tough.
Where are her parents?!

On this one, u must get parental consent due 2 the under 18 thing. I am going 2 be going thru a divorce and plan 2 date low to mid 20's up to mid 30's. I feel that is okay 4 big age differences as long as 2 people are in love, but with this with parental consent.

you cannot control your friends. If it is something that truly makes her happy why does it bother you? all you can really do is give her your opinion.
Now depending on the state you live in, this may be legal. In Missouri it would be. *i'd never date a man that was even more than 7 years older than me cuz i just think it's a lil eery*
But if you were in Oklahoma, ILLEGAL OUT UR BOOTY! lol
find out the laws on this and talk to her parents....she may hate you for it but you may help her save herself from a huge mistake in the long run.
And let her know that marriage isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It does take a buttload of work.

Lucky man! Well since she is a mother, she may have some motherly instincts telling her to hook up with someone that can give her a little security. unfortunitly that man will probably get tird of her imaturity. So what, do you think she should hook up with someone closer to her age? what then? another child from some immature boy that probably doesn't want to deal with her first child. an older guy wont mind because he is experienced. Really this is too much an age diference but she already messed up, what does she have to loose?Nothing! What can she gain? Something!

first find out about the 40 year old man, mabey hes a nice guy, if he is mabey its a good thing that she has someone to support her kid,
if he is a scumbag like he probably is, just have an honest conversation with this person, dont push her do make any decisions or she will get mad and not listen, but if you tell her to just listen to your opinion and make her own judgement it might help

Which one would be the bigger loser? A 40 year old that can't socialize with anybody within 2 decades his age? Or a 17 year old who will have sex with a 40 year old because her ego is so damaged that she feels she can't be loved by anybody else?

But you have to make a thought out judgement for the 40 year old guy too. I mean, you can't base the relationship on just her.

thats pretty awful...the guy is old enough to be her father, something is wrong here...
