Okay. Won't comeout of Win. 98 mode!?

Question

I just asked that question about the laptop password thing. Well I figured it out with system safe mode, and when I created a new account. It well, looks like 98. It says XP when you run it, but when you go change the settings, it says nothing but the 98. No XP.
Can someone help me solve this?

Sounds to me like you have a dual boot situation. You booted from the wrong partition. If you right-click on My Computer and select Properties, it should say Windows XP. If it doesn't, figure out your boot loader. If it does, you probably have some kind of virus or strange profile settings?????????
