A friend of mines daughter (she is 12 almost 13 and in the 7th grade) she wants to earn extra $money$ for a school trip she's going on. Would you hire a 12 year old to help watch your children for several hours at a time?

I think it depends. My 12 year old is starting to sit so from that side... I'd let her sit for several hours if you were going to be around. Like if you wanted to finish some work around the house and had her there to watch the kids. I'd let her sit for several hours if you lived next door and I was home for backup if you wanted to head out and do errands around town. I wouldn't be comfortable with her sitting for several hours, alone, across town especially after dark.
