normal temp can be between 101-102, 103 if they are excited.
do you think he could have gotten into anything "toxic" around the house or outside?
heavy breathing can indicate pain and also repiratory distress- and if he just ran around the house chasing something it could be exercise. Where was he right before this happened?
check his color of his gums to make sure they are not pale or white indicating shock-- they should be pinkish. Pink means he is getting adequate oxygen for at least now this minute.
Since breathing problems can involve a lot of different causes (some being serious)... i would see if it subsides in a few minutes and if it doesnt-- you should go see a vet.

Don't panic all u need 2 do is calm down and call the vet and explain what your kitten looks like and is acting like he will be fine as long as u don't panic. Don't play around with him either just let him rest and keep a close eye on him. feed him lots of water and be sure that he is getting plenty of milk from his mother if he is still with his mother. I know what u r going through my cat died just last year and he was 13. I promise that ur cat should be fine as long as u follow my advice. BUT CALL THE VET FIRST BEFORE U TAKE ANY OTHER OF MY ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your cat is making weird noises when it breathes, it shouldn't be a big problem becuase my kitten did it since we got her and the vet told us that is was respiratory problems, but there was nothing you could do about it. Good luck to you and your kitten!!!

Get him to the vet right now!!
Is there something stuck in his throat?
Call a vet & they will tell you where there is an emergency vet.
>>>It sometimes helps to raise the back end of the animal to get air in the lungs.
Who ever thumbed me down doesnt know,,ask a vet,,tilting an animal like that will get air in the lungs,,but this will not cure what is wrong.

Try to find an animal emergency center. Most of them are open 24 hours, and go.

Could he have a fur ball? I would call the vet and tell them the symptoms and see what they suggest.
