If you have ever seen one of those forensic files or murder shows, you might have picked up that (please don't be offended guys) a large portion of the murderers are men. My father is as creepy as one of those guys. He is a lying, manipulating sociopath that ruined our family. He did a lot of emotional damage. He moved out last year though. He left me with bipolar and I am starting to think he left my sister OCD or schrizophebia. I am not sure though, so please judge from what I am about to tell you:

1)She is afraid that he is in a closet or in the shower hiding. She is afraid he is looking in the window about to shoot a bullet through the glass.
2)He is hiding in a room with lights off.
3)She is afraid he will break into the house and set up cameras or recorders.
4)She hears whistling and noises that aren't really there.
5)If she turns really quickly, she says she sees his shadow which of course, isn't there.

None of these things have actually happened but she is terrified.

That it will happen. She has me check the bathroom before she uses it because she is so afraid.

Does anyone think she has OCD or Schrizophebia?

Thanks

I know everyone is saying 'that doesn't sound like ocd' but there are two different kinds of ocd and they are all thinking of the one popularized on tv and stuff. Yes I think your sister could have OCD, she definately has an Anxiety disorder. How old is she? You didn't mention that. I had an abusive mother, she is a sociopath as well, and I can't lie sometimes I wonder if she will come after me, she has before. And she has also set up listening devices in my room when I was younger to spy on me, so I wonder that too. I have anxiety though really bad, and I was told once that I have the puely 'o' part of ocd. Hope this helps you. Make sure she goes to a doctor about this, k?? Take Care. And you can email me if you want.

There are some sturdy solutions right here. have you ever talked on your parents approximately this? What do they think of? My son has OCD and has been taken care of with cognitive habit scientific care / exposure reaction prevention and it has worked. His indicators at the instant are very nearly non-existent. do not purchase into the USE MEDS USE MEDS USE MEDS. learn has shown that meds don't have an prolonged-term lasting result. CBT / ERP on the different hand has been shown to have an prolonged-lasting long term beneficial result. help your sister! She could be very embarrased approximately her OCD and he or she is probable very distressed. Get your parents in contact. you are able to help her and he or she gets extra useful!

I agree with the idea of Post Traumatic Stress. I've read lots about schizophrenia, in my family. Doesn't sound like it.

She's scared cos she was taught to be scared, never knowing what was going to happen. It's learned behaviour, unfortunately. You both should try to get some counseling to deal with what you've lived with. Ask a school counselor where you can go. Insurance usually pays for it now if your family has health ins. Or talk to a pastor or other trusted adult.

You can both survive this.

Sounds like Post Traumatic stress disorder.
OCD behaviors stem from nothing really...its just odd behavior patterns that people get stuck on.
Schizophrenia consists usually of haulucinations or fantasy fear
Your siter seems to be displaying fears out of something that could be a reality sittuation.

Sounds like some kind of psychosis (hallucinations and delusions). Schizophrenia is the classic Psychotic DIsorder, but some people have psychotic symptoms as part of another disorder like Bipolar or Major Depression.

I hope your sister sees a psychiatrist or other medical doctor soon. She probably needs medication.

this does not sound like OCD at all. It does sound like you sister is suffering from paranoia and althought she has a basis for her fears she is becoming paralyzed by them. I think she does need to see an MD therapist you can help her to overcome some of the damage done to her

OCD is obsessive compulsive disorder. Not what you are describing at all. Maybe it would be best just to get her some professional help instead of asking rank amateurs to psychoanalyze her over the net.

It does not sound like ocd.

Believing someone is there when no one is or hearing non-existing noises can occur with schizophrenia.

Some of her experiences may be post traumatic stress disorder.

What ever the cause, she should get help.

Good luck to you both.

ocd is obsessive compulsive disorder...as in,washing your hands 12 times or vacuuming the floor a thousand times.what she has sounds to me more like tramatic paranoia.hopefully she will calm down after time but i think maybe you should take her to a doctor.
