Well, I am currently in the Army and well, It has really improved since I first joined five years ago. It was esspecially good in Iraq. Even the MRE's are getting better. (meal ready to eat). So, on my end the food is pretty good and I have no complaints.

The food is good at AF, Army, and Marne chow/dining halls. It's like a cheap all-you-can-eat buffet. Although it lacks salt to accommodate for everyone's diet. Never been to a Naval base's facilities though.
I like MREs too though. My favorite is pot roast.

I know that Army food in Iraq is pretty good, steak and shrimp three nights a week, steak kinda sucks but the shrimp is good, back in the states at the DFAC, it is good, has everything that you could want and you can eat as much as you want, within limit of course. Pizza is always better delivered though.

my husband says the dfac has got some really good food in iraq. and mres aren't too bad, he really likes the chicken and salsa one.

depends on what chow hall you go to it will either suck or be surprisingly good. oddly, there is no middle ground. m.r.e.'s have improved over the years but after eating them for a year you cant stand the thought of them.
