Well, there certainly are learning disabilities that can cause this, but my guess is you are not talking about that. I personally blame the public school system for failing to ensure every child understands what is being taught.

Are you referring to spelling in general or spelling on this site? If you're referring to this site. . . I sometimes wonder, that since this is a worldwide site, that some on here are from a non English speaking country and they are doing the best they can with the English spelling so to participate within this avenue of the Yahoo Answers site.
If that is the reason their spelling is poor...than I say...leave them be...they are doing the best they can and I give them credit for having the mind to participate on a site as this.

it is a learning disability that makes it hard for people to read and write, because letters can look backwards or upside down

The more anal you get about it,the more it will bother you.Just don't assume everyone is as bright and intelligent as you are or gifted with the ability to master the English language.
