Look at it like High school football...Busch is junior varsity and Nextel is varsity. Do good in Busch series and you'll probably move up to Nextel. Although I don't think Nextel drivers should race in Busch races, give the little guys a chance!

Busch series cars have less horsepower, and is usually the warmup for the Nextel cup. Most drivers start there. Just like the minor leagues

The Busch cars are quite a bit different than Nextel Cup cars. Just take a close look at them at Daytona. You can see the difference.
Also, there are less experienced drivers, the money is different, and They race at different tracks.

The cars are somewhat different yet very similar (Busch cars have a slightly shorter wheel base and a slightly larger spoiler, for example). Some rules are different as well (Busch teams are limited to a certian number of tires for the race weekend by virtue of a NASCAR rule and this number varies from race to race.....Cup, on the other hand have access to all the tires they want). Busch races are generally shorter. The Busch league was intended as a sort of "minor league" to Cup.....but anymore, it's a place where lesser cup drivers (like Harvick) can go thump their chest and feel like they're big man on campus again.

Well, Nextel Cup used to be major league, and Busch used to be minor league. But now, Nextel Cup is major league, and Busch is where they practice.

The Busch series is the "minor league" of the sport. The cars are similar but have a few differences. One being that the cars are lighter. They also produce less horsepower than the cup cars. They also have a smaller wheel base. As well as specifications with the motors and such. It's still racing, so enjoy both.

in terms of the handling of the machines several drivers have said cup and truck are closer than cup and busch. and the busch series is not as slow as people think. and just cause you are in the busch series does not mean yopu have very little skill. look at david green and steve grissom. both are former series champs and both have stayed in the busch series. both have been around for at least 10 years in the busch series and have little or no cup experience. but i do think nascar needs to limit the number of cup drivers in the races. im tired of seeing the same drivers winning races and championships in both series. and to further seperate the two nascar is talking bout possibly using camaros, mustangs, and other similar cars in the busch series.
