I am in school to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant. We have learned all of the movements the body makes (flexion, abduction, rotation, protraction, and so on.) Sadly, I now have to learn all of the muscles that make each of the movements.

I am terrible at memorizing. I look at my flashcards and all I see are a bunch of letters strung together that make no sense at all.

I have a test next friday and if I don't pass--I will fail out of the entire program. I have no idea how I will do it. It is just luck of the draw...I can draw questions out of a stack that are easy and I know them...or ones I have never heard of--so, I need to learn them all (for the upper portion of the body.)

Is there anyone who has any tips or any websites that may be helpful?

Thanks.

Stacie

body movement almost always comes from muscle contraction and never muscle elongation. so, a muscule can move two points closer together but it can never push them apart. So, note two body parts moving closer together and then figure if there is a muscle in between them.

GOOD LUCK!

Several of the muscles - especially the fingers - have flexor and extendor as part of the name. Also, try to remember which side of the limb the muscle is on, for example the muscles nearest to the front of the leg with the tendon attached to the top of the foot, helps to draw the foot up.

Once you have the easiest to memorize down, use your flashcards and little things to help memorize those.

Try making a mnemonic rhyme about them.
