I have had RA for about 7 years and have never been told by any of my docs or my friends to stay away from certain food specifically related to RA. If you have allergies to certain foods, it can trigger a flare in the RA, but there is no research to prove that eliminating certain foods will stop RA or even cure it. I have heard many theories like shark oil and other things that are miracle cures, but none are proven. One thing may help you but no one else.

I have been involved with RA research through a local university and went through extensive education. I am also involved with a forum for RA, lupus, fibro, etc, and there is a lot of news and research going on in the forum. we have lots of people that share their research with us. Again, i have never heard of food being a cause or cure for RA. sorry.

CHeck us out at the forum. maybe if you ask there, someone else can help you. we do discuss alternative treatments and food is one of them.

hope to see you there.

Elimination of allergic foods has been shown to offer significant benefit to some individuals with rheumatoid arthritis. Eliminate all foods you suspect may be the cause of the rheumatoid arthritis. Avoid foods that contribute arachidonic acid. Arachidonic acid is a fatty acid that is derived almost entirely from animal sources (meat, dairy products, etc.) It is converted to to inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes that contribute significantly to the inflammation.

eating "lots" of eggs is bad for cholesterol. Eat egg whites only. 23! so young. Do exactly what your doctor says. If you need medication TAKE IT. Many with high cholersterol have inherited it and you can't diet it away, you need the med. Ask Dr. about foods to eat or avoid.
