Wow, you are in a very tough situation. First of all you can't help it that she likes you, your friend is just going to have to accept that. If you like her go for her. I would talk to your friend about it first though. If he gets mad then your just going to have to make a choice and decide what you would rather have.

If your friend is anything like how my best friend in high school (who liked every damn guy in school) was then I would say "No, you're not a bad friend." lol Anyway my friend "loved" and "crushed" on every guy in school and I went out with two and she was upset. But hey SHE LIKED everyone ( I'm serious EVERYONE... made dating for me hell! lol) so who was I supposed to date. They liked me and I liked them. First I made sure that they didn't like her because if they would have told me they did then I wouldn't have bothered and I would have told them that she felt the same but they both said they weren't interested in her. So what can you do. Just let him know that she asked you out and that you plan on going with her. Hopefully he'll get over it.

One thing if you want to keep a Best Friend for life, is to respect them and respect their private life. Yeah she may be cute, yeah she asked you, but come on, how many other girls you could of have went out with? Doing this, your gonna mess up your trust with your best friend, UNLESS he likes a lot of girls. But if its just this ONE girl he totally digs, than hands off buddy, let her go!!
